Shelley

“Look, as sentient meat, however illusory our identities are, we craft those identities by making value judgments: everybody judges, all the time. Now, you got a problem with that… You’re livin’ wrong."

Description

Maggie’s copper curls fall thick down her back. She loves fashion – and that primarily means that she wears off the shoulder t-shirts and sweaters, tights, leg warmers, and big scrunchies. She wears contacts. She’s known for being excitable and stubborn. She’s got a sharp edge to her now, like if someone makes her too angry she might snap and cut them; fortunately, the cheer tends to win out over the other.

“Today I coo, today I caw
I have a pistol party and I kill ‘em all
I think I might be scared
Of the man and the men with their hands inside
And the women, oh, the women all they do is cry
And I, well I lose my mind
And now I found brimstone in my garden
I found roses set on fire
And I found Jesus, what a liar
So I trade licks with Muddy Waters
And I, well I found what’s best for me
And now I see no tragedy
And I, I found a burning rose
And now I won’t be packing little pistols
No, no, no more.”

“Come the war
Come the avarice
Come hell
Come attrition
Come the reek of bones
Come hell
This is why
Why we fight
Why we lie awake
And this is why
This is why we fight
When we die
We will die
With our arms unbound.”

“Lonely I, I’m so alone now
There’ll be no rest for the wicked
There’s no song for the choir
There’s no hope for the weary
If you let them win without a fight
If one heart can mend another
Only then can we begin
So won’t you hold on a little longer
Don’t let them get away.”

“I contemplate the moment in the garden, the idea of allowing your own crucifixion.”
